Tile Fill is a permanent heat transfer media developed in the late 1940's. It is an ideal fill for concrete and certain FRP Cooling Towers for projects that require extended cooling tower long-life and/or a critical application. Tile Fill has unique thermal design and application considerations. The application is very different from that of PVC fill media. Substantial experience is required in rating Tile Fill. CTE has many decades of applying and rating Tile Fill in field erected applications. Different stacking patterns have been used over the years by various manufacturers. Understanding thermal performance of the different stacking patterns and their limitations is critical in the thermal design of the tower.
